I’m having my first Christmas get-together this evening.
With 3 great friends – one in Boston, one in Cornwall and one in a hotel somewhere in Dublin quarantining after coming home from London for the month.
And it won’t be the same as seeing the lads in person, but we’ll make the most of it.
Just like millions are doing all around the world.
“It won’t be the same – but we’ll make the most of it”. Sums up the year really.
Online gigs versus live gigs. Grandparents seeing their grandchildren through a window. Dancing on your own in your sitting room watching the teacher on a computer screen.
But we have done our best to make the most of it. And as it comes to the end of the year, and there are signs of a brighter 2021, it’s worth taking some time to pat ourselves on the back.
For rising to the challenge. For doing the right thing. For keeping going.
It has been a slog. But we have kept with it. And next year will be easier.
