…the best advice I ever got.
Because it’s only by starting that you get to figure out how much you don’t actually know. And then you can go about changing that. But if you don’t start, you won’t get to do this. You’ll stay as you always were, thinking and talking about starting.
I launched my online piano tuition service less than a year ago. And today I changed it’s name. It’s now called ‘Piano With Kieran’.
Because it’s a friendly service. It’s a personal service. And one of the things I learned by starting it was that the previous name was a bit too formal and not attractive enough to people.
Something else I learned after starting it was that it didn’t cater hugely well for beginners. Or even for people who had played a bit of piano but had never played by ear. Not to say that some people who fell into these categories haven’t been successful with it (take a bow Mike), but generally I saw that people starting from scratch found it difficult to work their way into and understand fully my teaching philosophy and methods.
Because they are different to a lot of methods out there. I believe in playing by ear, and I believe that it’s the most natural and organic way to learn to play the piano. I believe that it’s possible for anyone to learn by ear, and that while some are born with a greater talent for this than others, it can be taught just like any other skill.
So I have addressed this issue too, and 3 brand new courses specifically for beginners (at the piano or at playing by ear) will launch in January.
But today, I’m happy to announce 3 very special offers – especially for anyone looking to get started with the piano or for anyone who can already play the piano but is looking to get learning about playing by ear.
They include the following…
- Access to all courses
- Access to the 50 song-based videos already on the site
- Access to over 30 ear training challenges and answers
- Access to our Facebook Community Group
- A customised workbook
- 1-1 lessons with me so I can answer any questions you may have or set you on the right track.
They are comprehensive, they are effective and they are great value. Check them out here.
Or if you are a bit further on with your playing and would like to simply subscribe and join our friendly and ever-growing community of musicians, have a look at these options.
Because if you have a dream of being able to sit down in a session and play with others, if you can play right hand melodies but would like to learn more about putting nice chords with them, or if you want to invest in and take some time for yourself and learn to play a song on the piano, it’s time to stop dreaming.
And just start.
