Will it be any good?

If you haven’t asked yourself this question at some stage, you probably haven’t experienced the feeling of being out of your comfort zone, stuck into a new project not knowing if it will work or not.

It’s a scary question to ask yourself, because there is no definitive answer.

Certainly not now, before you have shown it to anyone.

But while it’s natural to ask yourself the question, you don’t really need an answer. Not right now anyway. Acknowledge the question, but then bypass it and continue in your work of trying to make it as good as you can.

And one day someone will tell you if they think it’s any good or not. And so you might get your answer.

But more importantly you’ll know the answer yourself. You just don’t need to know it yet. Focus on the work, on giving it the best chance to be not just good, but great.

I'm Kieran and I play piano. Actually I do a bit more than just playing - I teach others how to play, and I write music, arrange it and host/produce shows.
