Be like the tortoise…

I read this today – in James Clear’s newsletter.

“Slow and steady often wins because it keeps you motivated.

Take on manageable challenges and you’ll get frequent signals of progress. Bite off more than you can chew and progress stalls.

When you make progress, you want to keep going. When you break progress, you want to stop.”

It reminded me of a former piano student of mine who always set herself unrealistic challenges regarding the instrument. Learning songs that were too difficult for her, always demanding more of herself, never giving herself credit for what she did but rather always looking ahead for the next challenge.

She lasted less than a year and then gave up.

Be like the tortoise…every step counts.
