‘Those who can, teach; those who can’t, do’.

This is of course a twist on the original phrase coined by George Bernard Shaw over 100 years ago – in his play Man and Superman.

But it is equally as true as the original – ‘those who can, do; those who can’t, teach’.

Some people may like the idea of teaching, but do instead because they aren’t much good at communicating the how of what they do to others.. Others may want to do but find they aren’t quite good enough to make it work so choose to teach instead. And then you have those who can do really well but choose to teach, and those who can teach really well but choose to do.

Don’t waste time trying to work out if one type of person is better than the other. There is plenty of room for both in our world.

Here’s to all the teachers, and all the doers.

I'm Kieran and I play piano. Actually I do a bit more than just playing - I teach others how to play, and I write music, arrange it and host/produce shows.
