A big event in your life brings excitement.
A haircut, a new outfit, new skins on your drums – people tend to make the extra effort when one of these events is fast approaching.
And they are great – in many ways – life would be duller without them.
Problems can arise when they are over though. You can feel empty, purposeless. Like the athlete who has trained for months to achieve his goal and now that the race is over struggles to get out training at all.
Big events should be the bonus, not the reason for living. Get your day-to-day right first – it’s most important.
