In last night’s show – all first time personal milestones – a singer accompanied herself on piano, a pianist accompanied herself singing, a saxophonist put down his saxophone and sang while accompanying himself on piano, and others sang solo in front of a packed auditorium.
They were all aged 18 or under, and not one of them regretted taking this leap, or the work it took to carry it off to a high standard. In fact all were delighted they did.
As we get older, the delight we can get from trying and achieving something new does not diminish, but our willingness to actually start that process does.
Unless you decide otherwise.
