Live Music

If you’re playing live, make it live.

  • Interact/connect with the audience.
  • Interact/connect with the other musicians
  • Change up the arrangements from the recording
  • Change up the setlist each night
  • Surprise the audience and each other
  • Express yourself.

  • Play it exactly like the recording
  • Autotune
  • Mime
  • Play to backing tracks
  • Set limits on solos/intros/outros
  • Play it the same way each night

I'm Kieran and I play piano. Actually I do a bit more than just playing - I teach others how to play, and I write music, arrange it and host/produce shows.

  1. My inability to copy exactly is what makes me unique. Love when my piano accompanist goes off on a journey, I just go with it and feel proud that she has allowed me to jump on board

  2. Hi Lutz and thanks for your question.
To mime (in a musical sense) is to pretend to sing but have a recorded track actually produce the sound.

  3. Good points Kieran. I totally agree. But what is meant with the expression “mime”? Do you mean, to imitate somebody or so? Thanks and have a nice day. Lutz
