The sun set in dramatic fashion on 2018 in Strandhill yesterday. Check out the fiery dragon swooping over the bay.
And the sun has just set on the first day of 2019. And it will set tomorrow, and rise each day too.
The 1st of January each year feels like a new beginning – a time of hope and good intentions – but in reality any day can be a new beginning if you want it to be.
However if there is a fire of change burning inside you today, if you feel ready to attack the year or launch yourself into something new, embrace that feeling. It can be powerful, and can lead to great things.
But don’t be fooled by today’s buzz – it will be gone next week until this time next year, unless you pair it with the hard work required to turn your good intentions into something real. This is where you need to see each day as a new start, and meet the challenges of each day one by one, until gradually your plans come to fruition. As Joe Schmidt says – “win the battle that’s in front of your face”.
I wish all of you the very best with your new plans, goals and challenges. The world will be a better place for them.
